This project transforms the historic Peninsular Paper Co. Building, located in a park in Ypsilanti, Michigan, into a community hub featuring adaptable spaces for fishermen, theatergoers, and café patrons.
The adaptive reuse preserves the building’s historic character while integrating natural site elements and sustainable materials. The design bridges the site’s industrial heritage with modern uses, creating harmony between old and new.
By revitalizing the park as a major community center, the project aims to attract residents and students, offering versatile spaces that foster engagement, connectivity, and cultural growth.
