This project proposes a community-focused event center in Detroit’s Medbury Park/Milwaukee Junction neighborhood, featuring event spaces, offices, and educational areas to support collaboration and creativity.
The design incorporates a modular glulam column-and-beam structure with a "kit-of-parts" approach, emphasizing prefabrication, efficiency, and sustainability. Wood and mass timber are central to improving environmental performance.
Aligned with the city’s master plan, the center prioritizes connectivity and community engagement, integrating natural light and renewable energy systems to reduce energy use and contribute clean energy back to the community.
